Sugarpill::Heart Breaker

As many of you Sugarpill freaks know, they just released their new palette, The Heart Breaker Palette, May 18th. I was pretty excited about it. I ordered mine at 12:15 am on the 18th, kind of expecting it to sell out quickly. Needless to say, I was happy with the purchase, but even MORE happy when I finally got it. No, you will not see un-boxing pics becuase that's just boring. Rather, I did some comparison shots compared to my other two Sugarpill palettes (The Cold Heart and Burning Heart palettes). SO without further adieu, let the fun begin!

Like always, I got a free sticker with my palette as well as a sample of magentric which wont be pictured becuase I gave it away before I took pics. I really like the new stickers too!!

The picture below is one of the old box compared to the new box. (I wrote on my boxes becuase the burning heart and cold heart palettes were impossible to decipher from the outside which was which)

Very cute packaging to say the least...I like that they used the word "delicious" becuase they really are!!

I am loving the blue instead of the pink on the new palette too! Glad to see them change more then the just the colors inside...

This is a no flash picture. The colors by name are (clockwise from the top):
  •  Acidberry- A super neon chartruse green matte shadow. I will say this one is my fav color in the whole palette.
  • Velocity- A deep royal blue matte shadow, reminds me of a pressed, non-sparkly version of royal sugar.
  • Mochi- A light seafoam green with a silver sheen. I would love an old chevy painted this exact color...
  • 2am- Light red based purple magenta with a tiny hint of blue, sparkly sheen.

In the next picture, I took the new Heart Breaker  palette and put it next to my Cold Heart palette. I mainly did this so that everyone could compare 2am to poison plum, and velocity to afterparty.

This is a close up of the pans with flash. This is a good picture to see the blueish sheen in the 2am and silvery sheen in the Mochi.  Acidberry and Velocity appear to have some sheen, but I dont think they do, they apply very matte.

One thing I did notice about this palette is that 3 out of 4 of the colors are kind of powdery upon swatching. Later, I used it for a look to put on this blog, and they applied with very little to no fallout which was good for me. I was a little worried with I saw how dusty they were. Ended up being not being a big deal...

This picture was before I blew the access off...

AFTER I blew off the powder. My swatch was done over dry skin, no primer. Also, with no flash in natural sunlight. Even for being on dry skin, they are very pigmented and velvety.

Lastly, this is the look I created only using colors from this palette. The colors are wonderful to work with, easy to blend and build-able.  The only editing I did to this pic was a crop. Those are true to the color with a flash.

I hope you all loved this review and my swatches. <3 ya!

Makeup Geek Haulage

Hey zom'b lovers! This is officially my very first Haul blog post! As you could probably tell by the title, its from the makeup geek online store. The haul contains products I got from two separate orders, just added them together becuase I was waiting to get my new camera and in the meantime I got more stuff from her store. The owner/creator, Marlena, is such (as far as I can tell from her videos) a very sweet person and she does EXCELLENT video tutorials. Everything is simple enough for even beginners to be successful in creating either gorgeous, edgy, colorful or neutral looks. So without any further adieu, lets get started!
The First thing I want to talk about is the brushes. She has her own line of make-up brushes. They are all very good quality brushes, very VERY reasonably priced for the product you are getting.  These are the ones I got:

-MUG Deluxe Foundation Stippling Brush
-MUG Crease Brush
-MUG SMall Crease Brush
-MUG Pointed Crease Brush
-MUG Deluxe Outer-V Brush
-MUG Stiff Dome Brush (MAC 217 Dupe)

Next we can start in with ALL the NYX products I got. I just want to mention something about the palette shown in the picture. The one I chose was very similar as far as colors to a Kat Von D palette I was looking at on Sephora's site, when I saw the NYX one I was pretty excited because I do enjoy the texture of their pressed shadows. Here is a complete list:

-NYX 10 Color Eyeshadow Palette "The Runway Collection" in Champagne & Caviar
-NYX Professional Makeup Puff
-NYX Pressed Shadow in Sahara
-NYX Pressed Shadow in High Light
-NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Cherry

What is next is the Ben Nye pigments I got. I have heard a lot about their pigments so when I saw that Make-Up geek sold samples of them, I ordered a couple to try.  The two I got were:

-Ben Nye Loose Pigment in Cherry Red
-Ben Nye Loose Pigment in Ice

Here is a swatched pic of the pigments (dry and with my homemade mixing medium)

AND Last but DEFINITELY not least...SUGARPILL!!!! YAY! *Applause in background* I simply ADORE Amy, and she has created a very beautiful monster when it comes to her Sugarpill Empire!! Some of the MOST brilliant colors, my fav. eyeshadow brand as of right now and just all around the CUTEST stuff on the market! Sugarpill has solely made it my personal mission to make it to IMATS 2012 JUST to visit that booth and meet Amy! (OK STALKER!) LOL! I was on make up geeks store page and noticed she not only sells the Chromalust Loose Pigments, but she also samples some of them out. With that said, I picked up a few of them that I didnt already have the full sizes off. Here is a list of those:

-Sugarpill Chroma Lust Loose Shadow in Magentric
-Sugarpill Chroma Lust Loose Shadow in Paperdoll
-Sugarpill Chroma Lust Loose Shadow in Starling
-Sugarpill Chroma Lust Loose Shadow in Magpie

Here is a swatched pic of the pigments (dry and with my homemade mixing medium)

I hope you all enjoyed as much as I did, I love having new things to work with, makes this ZoMbEa HAPPY!! Stay doll, Lovlies!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

OKAY MUA's, I know a lot,  A LOT, of us have tried and loved Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. For most of us, its an instant hit! I know that first time I tried it, I wondered how I ever managed without it! From loving the awesome names UD uses for their products to the cutesy packing, they have been one of my favorite companies thus far. With all this said, when it comes down to the UDEPP, I have not only been let down once, but TWICE by packaging. I bought the original $18 genie bottle-esque p.p., came home and used it right away. Upon my first use, the top where the wand goes in and out snapped clean off, I was UPSET to say the least. Mostly becuase I really had no way to take it back since it had been purchased at an Ulta store 80+ miles from my house. After cooling my jets a tad bit, and coming to a realization that it was not the end of the world. I came up with a little solution to the problem, just pot the remaining product. I took an empty container that once held a sample of my FAVORITE MAC pigment of all time (helium).  After washing my hands and everything I was using, I emptied the bottle as best as I could.

After doing so, I had really seen how much really fit in that skinny bottle. I had also come to find out, its way easier to gauge how much I really needed to apply. I took the box it had come in, cut the words off and tapped them to the lid.

A few months later, I was at said Ulta again, and had seen a "Professional Size" that came in a squeeze bottle with a lid! I was ECSTATIC! I was sooooo happy to see that Urban Decay came out with a larger size, but also that this packaging might not fail me like with my first bottle.

I bought the $30 professional size and took it home and added it to my collection of primers in my case and didn't actually try it for a few weeks. When I finally did get down to using it, I removed it from the box and took the lid off and proceeded to squeeze a tiny bit on to my finger. After I did I felt something on the inside of the hand that was squeezing to find out the bottom on the tube blew out, and it was coming out from TWO ENDS!

I could not believe I was having ANOTHER issue with packaging of this product. Just like the first time, I ended up potting another batch of UDEPP.

Granted I STILL love the product, and still use it religiously, I have just become acustomed to the fact, that maybe this will happen again (hopefully not) but it won't be the end of the world and with the right know how, you can (Just like Tim Gunn says) MAKE IT WORK!
